What to wear to this year’s Xmas Work Do?!

December is the month of seasonal cheer, bearing of gifts and family reunions but ultimately one of the most expensive months. Despite the endless expenses, we can always look forward to a Christmas work do. It's when your uptight manager lets loose and difficult management drop their unfriendly vibes once the drinks come pouring in. Whether it is at the pub, late night bar or a classy three-course meal, Christmas work do’s are a must-attend event! But what to wear? Well, I have all the tinsel and treats to tickle this!

Tis’ the season to dress up
-
There is no harm in buying a new dress for this function, after all, it is the last work event of the year. Current trends include loud statement colours, sheer transparent materials and the return of the sparkles. Seeing as red is the colour of the season, a red mini spaghetti strap dress screams sexy but if that is out of your comfort zone, a neutral outfit; applying fiery red killer heels with a bold red lip grantees seasonal slay. Sheer mesh dresses are always a good shout, midi or mini, certain to get heads turning.
-
If you are a fan of oversize looks, the classic but special oversized white shirt dress is just as bold and sexy. Shirt dresses are always an option paired with this winter’s fav, suede or leather knee heel boots. Always remember layering up is just as sexy and stylish with the right footwear and clutch bag.

The Return of the two-piece
-
This year summer and autumn brought the rise of the wide leg and now winter has decided to keep the 70s inspired vibe. The glamorous pants require the perfect top to secure the bag. There is the option of the stylish off the shoulder crop top or a backless bodysuit, both options are equally sophisticated and stunning.
-
Co-ords are everything this season.  Brands like Gucci, Hugo Boss, Ted Baker and our fave high street brands Zara, Pull & Bear and Missguided have incorporated this trendsetting look in their winter collection. It is currently one of my personal favs and requires little effort but flawlessly expresses elegance and style. The stylist bold set can be worn to almost every function, whether you go for the velvet tuxedo, check suit or double breasted striped suit, you’re sure to look the part.

Jumpsuit Festive Fever
-
Winters favourite, tis the time you see endless pics on the gram, YouTube hauls and brands advertise their must-have jumpsuits. If you are a minimalist then the traditional black jumpsuit does just that. Despite your height or body shape, it is an outfit for everyone. Lover of the V-Neck? Or a fan of figure-hugging and emphasizing curves then jumpsuits are a must-have.
-
So remember, there is no harm in purchasing new items for your Christmas work function, decide to go short and sexy, fitted or oversized, as long it's paired with some killer footwear,  sandal or knee-high, you cannot go wrong. But ultimately have fun with your colleagues, embrace the seasonal vibes and cheers and take epic pics to capture one of the fun memorable events of the working year.
