2018 Staying Motivated Starter Kit

It is mid-way through January, the first month of 2018 and I have already struggled with following this month's goals. I told myself  February is my real start to the year, yet I realised this only occurred through my lack of motivation. So here are some helpful tips on how you can complete January and the rest of the year’s objectives.

First of all, how realistic are your goals this year? There is a common assumption regarding the idea of having multiple goals ensures your busy and being busy equals productivity, well No. Be realistic and focus on the things that matter than most.

You want to get into a habit of pursuing the things that matter the most. It is so easy to get carried away in our fast-paced economy. When we personally evaluate our lives, we draw up an endless list of things we hope and wish to complete, yes extremely desirable to the mind and ego but nothing is more fulfilling and realistically achieved when it is a goal that really matters and holds significance. Remember being realistic is relative to the individual so never compare yourself and remain honest when setting your goals.

Thoughts become things. In order to stay motivated, you need to assess two crucial areas; mental and physical. Our minds and bodies are interconnected. This concept of the “mind” encompasses mental states including thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and emotions. Different mental states can positively or negatively affect biological functioning. This occurs since the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems share a common chemical language, which allows constant communication between the mind and body through messengers like hormones and neurotransmitters. Once you are aware these two things coexist, your thought process and actions will simultaneously change.

The power of Affirmations, speak things into existence. The power of writing things down and meditating on them naturally demonstrate behaviors of commitment and high performance. Yes, it is easier said then done but it all starts with your thought process, which goes back to being realistic, find convenient times to implement this in your daily life for example reading and meditating on your goals on your way to work or on your lunch break.
